In 1960s rural Illinois, a sign language interpreter is beckoned into the opulent Amberson Estate, where a Deaf artist and his secret partner—who publicly present as father and son—prepare to exploit a little-known legal loophole, using adult adoption as their only path to inheritance, protection, and a shared legacy.

Andrew Morrill

Andrew Morrill

Andrew is an Obie-winning theatremaker and actor. His selected acting credits include “Trash” (Out of Box Theatrics), “Oedipus” (Deaf West and Getty Villa), “The Christians” (Phamaly Theatre), and The Vanderburgs’ “Dancing Girl” (SheNYCArts). He received a Helen-Hayes nomination for Outstanding Supporting Performer in Musical for portraying Mayor Shinn in “The Music Man” (Olney Theater Center). His recent artistic sign language direction was with Levi Holloway’s “Grey House” (Broadway), directed by Joe Mantello. He also received the Michael Feingold Award from the American Theatre Wing for his DASL work with Ryan J. Haddad’s “Dark Disabled Stories” ( The Public / Bushwick Starr). His additional DASL credits include“Hamlet” (Deaf West & Fiasco Theater), “Oedipus” (Deaf West & Getty Villa), “This Moment” (Prospect Theater Company), and “Titus Andronicus” (The Public & Apothetae). He also co-wrote with his collaborator, James Caverly, “Trash” at JACK NY & IRT and “Thank You Ryan for a Clean Microwave” at Ars Nova’s ANT Fest. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Bri Sudia

Born and raised in NJ, Bri is a proud AEA and SAG member who has spent the last 10 years calling Chicago home.

She holds an MFA in Acting from the University of Illinois and a degree in Sign Language Interpreting for the deaf.

Bri has performed across the country in musicals, new works and Shakespeare festivals. She is a voiceover artist and has appeared on network television and Apple TV. She also loves coaching and working with young actors!

When not performing, she can be found obsessing over her houseplants.

Robert Gerard Anderson

Robert Gerard Anderson, he/him He is a founding member of Struan Leslie’s 21st Century Chorus, a UK-based collaborative theater project, focusing on devising new work. Recently he has worked with Kill Your Darlings, a Los Angeles queer/female writing group, as a member of their acting cohort. His latest film projects, Final Summer and Mondo Hollywoodland, are streaming on Amazon Prime. He has produced and directed two feature length documentary films: Within A Play (HBO Doc Day Series/Toronto Film Festival) and The Actual Authentic Version of Who You Say I Am (Premiered at the Champaign Art Theater/Finalist: Louisville International Film Festival). A member of Actors’ Equity Association, he has performed across the United States with the Utah, Chicago, Idaho, Illinois, Arkansas, and Baltimore Shakespeare Festivals, The Rep (Delaware), and The Empty Space Theatre (Seattle), among others. He holds an MFA in acting from the University of Delaware’s Professional Theatre Training Program (PTTP) and is an Emeritus Associate Professor of Theatre and at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He will be completing the devising process for a one-man show, Man With Night Sweats, based on the work of poet Thom Gunn, at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (Cardiff). He will also apprear in the title role in Unqle Play by Jayne Deely at Judson Memorial Church (NY).

Luzzo is a filmmaker, producer,, and movement director based in Chicago. As a producer they have worked across short films, episodic content, and feature productions – including Desire Lines (Sundance 2024 Next Jury Prize recipient).

They began their career in film as an actor and hold a BFA in Acting with a concentration in Dance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Their multidisciplinary background extends to stunt choreography, intimacy coordination, and yoga instruction, all of which inform their embodied approach to storytelling.

Luzzo champions inclusive production spaces and pushes the boundaries of queer storytelling. Their work doesn’t just represent queer lives—it redefines how they are seen, felt, and remembered.

Amy grew up in the city of Chicago where she learned the importance of hard work and building a community–both ideologies that she carries to her work as a cinematographer. Recently, she shot the TV Pilot, Hank and Willow, with director Brad Morris, which won best TV Pilot at the Vancouver Independent Film Festival (2023) and SOHO International Film Festival (2023). Amy was also the second unit cinematographer for the Haroula Rose film, All Happy Families, starring Josh Radnor, Rob Huebel, Becky Ann Baker, and John Ashton which premiered at Chicago International Film Fest (2023) and is getting a theatrical release through AMC Theatres this fall quarter 2024. This year, she was the second unit cinematographer for the FX Series, The Bear, in which she was praised for capturing the essence of Chicago that is rarely showcased. Most recently, Amy was accepted into the AFI Cinematography Intensive for Women with 11 other rising cinematographers. She was also accepted into the highly competitive ASC Visions Program 2024-2025. Hailed for her work ethic and spunky attitude, Amy is seen as a promising up and coming DP. Amy enjoys in-depth discussions about the script and character motivation. She believes wholly in servicing the story as opposed to creating a signature look. She believes in working closely with the director to form a visual language and using her own sensibilities, tastes, and technical understanding to craft the images for the film. When she is not filming, Amy enjoys rock climbing, writing music, and catching up on movies. Amy is a citizen of both the USA and Thailand.

Vivian is a multimedia artist with works that cross the vast stage of storytelling, from designing costumes for theatrical characters to writing and illustrating diverse children’s books. Vivian’s focus is creating accessible work and centering stories of minoritized people. She approaches subjects regarding mixed-race identity, colonization of the Global South, sustainability in art and the environment, all while reclaiming ancestral craft through costumes, textiles, and printmaking.

Zev Steinrock

Intimacy Coordinator

Zev is a professional actor, fight director, intimacy director, and movement teacher. Professor Steinrock comes to us from Michigan State University, where he completed his MFA in Acting along with certifications in teaching yoga and for college teaching. Zev has taught numerous stage combat courses, comic improvisation, acting, and helped develop online courses designed to engage theatrical forms in new and innovative ways. After earning his BFA in Acting from Illinois Theatre in 2008, Professor Steinrock spent several years as an actor and fight director for a variety of professional theatres including Shattered Globe and Definition Theatre Co in Chicago and the renowned Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey. He is also a founding member of Chicago’s rising Brown Paper Box Theatre, founded by Illinois Theatre alumni in 2011. Professor Steinrock is a Certified Intimacy Director with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators, Inc., a Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors, and has worked as a choreographer all over the country. Professor Steinrock most recently spent a year in Los Angeles teaching at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting, UC Irvine, and UC San Diego, along with choreographing intimacy for the South Coast Repertory Theatre.

Professor Steinrock published an article on techniques for “acting the fight” in Fight Master, the journal of the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD). Professor Steinrock is a Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors, and serves on the glossary revision committee. In addition to his ongoing research and teaching in combat, movement, and acting, Prof. Steinrock has been recognized twelve times for his artistic work in Michigan, in Chicago, and by the SAFD. In 2011, Prof. Steinrock was honored by SAFD with its Paddy Crean Award, which is presented to someone believed to be an emerging leader in fight direction.

Zev served as the international workshop coordinator with Intimacy Directors International and hosted the first-ever international workshop for the training of professional intimacy choreographers during the summer of 2018 at the Krannert Center. His ongoing research centers around trauma-informed movement and stage combat training.

Matt Lauterbach (he/him) is a filmmaker dedicated to the creation of rich layers of accessible storytelling. He founded All Senses Go in 2020 as part of an effort to build a filmmaking community that prioritizes access to captions, audio description, and accessible websites and screenings. All Senses Go clients have included Sundance Film Festival, International Documentary Association, SFFILM Festival, Full Spectrum Features, Kartemquin Films, and a range of individual filmmakers. Prior to starting All Senses Go, Matt was co-director from 2015 to 2021 of the Chicago ReelAbilities Film Festival, which screened accessible films by and about people with disabilities. He also serves as a Steering Committee member with the Cultural Access Collaborative, whose mission is to empower Illinois’ cultural spaces to become more accessible to visitors with disabilities. Matt is now an Adjunct Faculty member in the School of Cinematic Arts at DePaul University in Chicago, where he teaches one of the nation’s only courses in Accessible Cinema.

As a documentary film editor, Matt has crafted over a dozen documentaries, including: American Arab (2013, America ReFramed); There Are Jews Here (2016, America ReFramed); Unbroken Glass (2016, America ReFramed); and For the Left Hand (2021). He is currently working closely with artist Reveca Torres on her feature film debut, an Untitled Arts & Disability Culture Film that imagines how her disabled ancestors Frida Kahlo, Vincent Van Gogh, and Henri Matisse lived and created. The film also engages in dialogue with a new generation of disabled artist-collaborators in Chicago.
